Environmental Impact
Scientists are telling us we have fewer than fifty years left to cut our CO2 emissions by more that 50% to prevent irreversible global warming and the ensuing disaster. The important issue to remember when burning wood from Frysville Hybrid Poplars is that the CO2 being released into the atmosphere is utilized by the next generations of trees under production with oxygen being their by-product. This is a natural recycling of the CO2, which is in sharp contrast to what happens when burning fossil fuels-coal, gas and oil. Combusting fossil fuels releases carbon that has been sequestered for eons in the earth's crust while having nowhere to go, except into the atmosphere, hence the greenhouse effect and global warming.
